My Story

My name is Re-Niyah Barnett also known as Ren, I am from Massachusetts and I am the CEO of Locs Lather. My business idea began to grow in 2020 when I pondered the thought of making shampoo bars that are safe for all hair types but especially safe and efficient for the Loc Community. This Was important to me because I have locs and my biggest challenge was making sure that every inch of my hair was saturated with shampoo; so, I could ensure that my hair was getting a refreshing and thorough clean every time. After a couple years with this idea in the back of my head, in 2023 I found the motivation to bring my idea to life with the support of my significant other and family. While making sure to stay Eco-Friendly, I also wanted my shampoo bar to stand out. My ingredients were well thought out with love and care. And while Locs Lather can deliver no promises at this time, I can assure you that my Cleansing Shampoo Bar will leave your hair feeling well-nourished now and later, without all the harsh chemicals.
